With a territory that stretches from Arctic tundra to Bermudan beaches, with two countries, seven time zones and more than nine million square kilometres, we have a huge mandate for creation care.
Equipped with a solid position statement and helped by a territorial operational policy, The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda is committed to taking the call for environmental sustainability seriously. This website is designed to assist you with the next steps. Whether you need practical advice or resources for worship and study, you will find invaluable tools and tips.
The website is structured to make it as easy as possible for you to find the types of resources you are seeking. You’ll find five pull-down menus at the top of the home page – Practice, Study, Discuss, Worship and Resources. Under each of these are a variety of pages and posts with materials suitable for each. Some may be duplicated – for example, the Group Studies page is found under Study, Discuss and Resources, since it is applicable for each genre of usage.
One of the most exciting aspects of this website is the capacity to have you, the user, contribute your stories and resources. If you click on ‘Share’ here or on the home page, you’ll be directed to a page where you are able to share a great resource you’ve discovered or developed, or a good supplier, or your personal or ministry unit story about a going green initiative or activity. The stories can be of successes, but we also want to hear about the adversities and failures you’ve encountered along the way – we can all learn from the experiences of others, both good and bad.
